We are thrilled to have been selected as a funding recipient through Digital Museums Canada!
Thanks to an investment by Digital Museums Canada, we will be able to create an interactive digital platform for young audiences to learn about North America’s first lines of Cold War defence: The DEW Line. Through video footage, interviews, rarely seen documents, and a navigable 3D environment, we will present stories of Cold War communications and geopolitics, of the people who waited on the line, and of what was left behind in the North when no threat came.
This funding will support in creating an engaging online experience that provides learning opportunities about Cold War history in the Arctic. We are excited to further expand our digital capacity, to document deteriorating structures and disappearing stories, and to introduce new ways for students to immerse themselves in Canada’s Cold War story.
More to come on this exciting project — stay tuned!
