The Diefenbunker: Canada’s Cold War Museum is pleased to announce the appointment of Monique Goffinet as its new Executive Director. Monique will lead the organization in advancing its mission to preserve and share Canada’s Cold War history.
Monique brings extensive leadership experience across the public, nonprofit, and heritage sectors. Previously, she served as CEO of Saskatchewan’s Provincial Capital Commission, overseeing a 3,200-acre urban park and several provincial heritage sites. Her past experience also includes leadership roles at Commissionaires South Saskatchewan, Saskatchewan’s Government House Museum and Edwardian Gardens, and positions with the Office of the Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia, and the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Monique is actively involved in community service, especially in support of Veterans. She is a member of the Ottawa Veterans Task Force, a Governor with Commissionaires Ottawa, Vice President of the Royal Regina Rifles Trust Fund, and a member of the Last Post Fund. She also has a background in media, having worked in television, radio, and print. Monique holds a master’s degree in leadership from Royal Roads University.
I am overjoyed to join the talented team at the Diefenbunker as their Executive Director. I’m eager to get to work stewarding the outstanding legacy of those who have come before me.
