As the weather gets warmer, and the snow continues to melt, the above-ground secrets of the Diefenbunker begin to emerge. Originally unveiled in November of 2022, our Interpretive Trail reveals the crucial operations that were put in place to safeguard Canada’s government in the event of a nuclear attack during the Cold War.

Our Interpretive Trail offers visitors an immersive experience where they can enjoy a scenic tour of the bunker hillside while learning about our facilities. Explore the various panels found along the trail that provide historical context on the site and that offer clues alluding to the bunker’s existence below. Uncover the ground level secrets of the Diefenbunker before exploring our expansive four-storey Cold War artifact underground.

Looking to get outside and enjoy the warm weather? Join us on our Interpretive Trail during the museum’s operational hours, at no cost, as we welcome the start of spring!
