Unfortunately, due to room capacity limitations, we cannot allow more than 15 guests in total. This includes children and chaperones. We request that you confirm the total number of guests with us prior to your birthday party date. Any additional guests that arrive day-of are not guaranteed admittance to the party.
The party programming is optimally designed for children between age 7 and 12. Younger children may not be able to enjoy the experience in the same way. However, younger children, including toddlers and infants being held by an adult, are still permitted, but will be counted as part of the 15-guest limit.
Yes, the birthday party package includes free general admission to the museum (not applicable to guided tours) for all guests if they would like to stay after the party is over. Parents/guardians dropping off their children but not staying for the party are eligible for a 20% discount on general admission to the museum. This offer may be redeemed at the Welcome Desk upon arrival, or by emailing [email protected] ahead of time.
Birthday party guests should check in at the Welcome Desk inside the museum approximately 5 to 10 minutes before their birthday party is scheduled to begin. You will be directed to a waiting area near the Welcome Desk until everyone arrives, and your staff host will then take everyone downstairs to the party room. We will need all guests to be present before the group is taken to the party room.
During the summer months when our Guard House is open, let the museum staff in Guard House know that you are checking in for a birthday party, and they will direct you inside the museum. (Guard House is the small white building located just outside the museum’s main gates, across from the Carp Public Library.)
Parking at the museum is free. For more information on directions and parking, please see our website.
Unfortunately, we cannot allow early access to the party room. If you or your guests arrive early, our staff will direct you to a waiting area near the Welcome Desk where you can relax until your staff host takes everyone downstairs to the party room.
You are welcome to put up decorations in the party room after your staff host has taken you downstairs.
Your total program time is 2 hours. The first 1.5 hours will include facilitated programming led by our staff host. This includes creating a special spy identity, participating in a variety of spy-themed games and lessons, and a scavenger hunt throughout the museum. The last 30 minutes is your own time to use the party room. Some guests choose to open presents and eat cake or food during this time.

We do not require that you bring anything with you aside from yourselves, but if you would like to open presents or eat food and cake during your scheduled party time, please consider bringing the following items:
- Presents
- Cake, food, and drinks (alcoholic beverages are not permitted)
- Tablecloths, dishes, cutlery (disposable or otherwise)
- Temporary decorations that can be put up with painter’s tape and taken down easily (e.g., balloons)
- Indoor shoes (during the winter)
The museum does not provide food or other refreshments as part of the birthday party package. You are welcome to bring your own food and snacks, or order food for delivery. We have a freezer and a fridge on-site in case you would like to store anything you bring, but we do not have dishes or cutlery available for use.
Please note that we strive to maintain a nut-free environment, and we have a strict No Open Flames policy (i.e., birthday candles) due to fire restrictions for our unique underground facility.
We recommend that you place your order the day before your birthday party reservation, and request to have it delivered 45 minutes before the end of your party. For 10:00 a.m. birthday parties, that means delivery for 11:15 a.m., and for 1:00 p.m. timeslots, that means delivery for 2:15 p.m. You will need at least one adult chaperone available to pay and pick up the food at the museum’s front entrance.
