Ottawa, Ontario, October 4, 2024 — The Diefenbunker: Canada’s Cold War Museum gratefully acknowledges the federal government’s investment in museum projects that will enhance the visitor experience and improve access to the museum.
Thanks to an investment of $166,000 from the Government of Canada through the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario) Tourism Growth Program, we are pleased to announce several new projects at the Diefenbunker.
In the coming months, these funds, together with funds contributed by the Diefenbunker, will support the development of two permanent exhibitions and associated programming; bus transportation to the site from downtown; an additional audio guide language; and enhanced wayfinding and signage, including a permanent land acknowledgement installation.
“The Diefenbunker extends its sincere gratitude to the Government of Canada for their vital contributions to our one-of-a-kind museum and national historic site. This investment is creating compelling cultural tourism offerings in rural West Ottawa, enhancing opportunities for community collaboration and economic growth as we welcome visitors from all around the world to experience a unique immersive history destination in Canada’s capital.”
