DESCRIPTION:The Diefenbunker: Canada’s Cold War Museum will be opening its blast doors with discounted general admission for visitors on Canada Day.\nDate\nWednesday\, July 1\, 2026 \nTime\n10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.\, with designated entry time slots \n\nEntry time slots are every 15 minutes beginning at 10:00 a.m.\nThe last entry time is 2:45 p.m.\n\nTickets\nEnjoy special event pricing:\n$13.65 per person*; Children 5 years old and under are free \nTickets must be purchased in advance\, as there are designated entry time slots and limited spots available. Walk-up visitors may not be admitted. \n*Prices exclude taxes and host processing fees. Taxes and fees are calculated at checkout.  \nDetails\n\nThere will be no option for guided tours this day — only self-guided exploration of the museum.\nEnjoy family-friendly activities like outdoor games and a Canadian-themed scavenger hunt inside the museum.\nOur free ten-language Audio Guide can be accessed on your own device using the museum’s Wi-Fi.\nWe encourage you to check out the free Interpretive Trail outside the museum. A selection of drinks and snacks will be available for purchase\, to eat outside the museum. You may also bring a lunch to eat outside at our picnic tables.\n\n\n>> RESERVE TICKETS\n\n     \n\nLand Acknowledgement\nThe Diefenbunker was built on the traditional unceded\, unsurrendered Territory of the Anishinaabe Algonquin People\, whose presence here reaches back to time immemorial. \nThe Diefenbunker Museum acknowledges the ongoing legacy of harm to Indigenous people in Canada and the adverse impacts of the Cold War on Indigenous communities. The museum is committed to contributing to the Calls to Action set out in the Truth and Reconciliation Commission\, specifically numbers 67 to 70 related to museums and archives. We endeavour to increase the representation of important Indigenous histories\, perspectives\, and languages in our Cold War content\, and to ensure respectful interpretation in our spaces. We are continually working to develop close and collaborative relationships with Indigenous communities\, whether locally\, provincially\, or nationally. \nWe hope you join us in learning from our past as we build our collective future.

Learn more about the history. \nPierre Brault is an Ottawa-based multi-award-winning actor\, playwright\, and stand-up comedian. He is best known for his solo plays Will Somers: Keeping your Hear\, Portrait of an Unidentified Man\, 5 O’clock Bells\, and Blood on the Moon. Pierre has toured his productions across Canada and abroad to Ireland and New Zealand\, and he has also worked extensively in film\, television\, and radio. \nPeter Haworth has performed for forty years throughout Canada\, acting on stage\, in film and television\, and as a voice actor\, including taking on major roles as King Lear\, Mark Antony\, and Tolstoy.
