Land Acknowledgement:
The Diefenbunker was built on the traditional unceded territory of the Algonquin Anishinaabe People. We acknowledge the ongoing legacy of harm to Indigenous people in Canada and the adverse impacts of the Cold War on Indigenous communities.
The Diefenbunker Museum is committed to contributing to the Calls to Action set out in the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, specifically numbers 67 to 70 related to museums and archives. We are continually working to increase the inclusion of important Indigenous histories and perspectives in our Cold War content, including through the addition of Algonquin as a language to our Audio Guide and through updated permanent exhibitions coming early in 2023.
We hope you join us in learning from our past as we build our collective future.
