Vaccination Policy & Masks:
All eligible individuals entering the Museum must have been fully vaccinated for at least two weeks, and must be able to provide proof of vaccination as well as proof of identification. For more information, please see the Government of Ontario’s website here.
As of July 7, 2020, in the City of Ottawa, it is mandatory to wear a non-medical mask in indoor public spaces to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Please help keep our family, staff, volunteers, and visitors safe by wearing a mask on your visit to the Diefenbunker. If you do not own a mask, we have masks available for purchase at the Museum.
Families will receive a Scavenger Hunt sheet at the front desk that will tell them what they need to find. As they go through the Bunker, they will keep an eye out for ghosts, cats, and pumpkins attached to the walls of the Museum. (Please leave the images where you find them – they are not for collecting!)
Once families have completed their tour of the Bunker, they will come back to the front desk to claim their treat bags!
The best way to get around underground is with a baby carrier. The government wasn’t thinking about navigating around in a stroller when they built the bunker back in the early 60s. If you bring a stroller, you will need to carry it up and down many stairs.
Parking is always free.
