SUMMARY:Veterans’ Week at the Diefenbunker 2026
DESCRIPTION:The Diefenbunker was an active military base for 32 years throughout the Cold War. We invite you to learn why we remember as you explore Cold War stories at the Diefenbunker.\nThis Veterans’ Week (November 5–11)\, the Diefenbunker honours those who have served and those who continue to serve\, including Indigenous veterans on November 8. \nThrough special programming\, we reflect on the impact of conflict and work towards a more peaceful future. \nNovember 5 to 8\, 10 to 11 \n\nVisit the Bank of Canada Vault for a space of reflection and remembrance.\nDiscover stories of Indigenous veterans through our exhibition An Inuit Story: The DEW Line(opens in new tab).\nWatch oral history videos(opens in new tab) from Cold War veterans\, on display outside the Machine Room.\nHear museum volunteers share their stories and personal experiences from serving during the Cold War.\n\nNovember 10\n \n\nIn addition to our extended experience guided tours\, two special tours will be available. Booking details coming soon.\n\nNovember 11 \n\nEnjoy free general admission to the museum. Booking details coming soon. Guided tours will not be offered.\nA moment of silence will be observed at 11 a.m. throughout the museum. After this time\, we invite you to lay your poppy on our wreath in the Bank of Canada Vault.
