Exclusive Tour Events
Want to throw a really unique birthday party for the guy who has everything? How about a staff party with a twist? A girls night out at a truly retro location? Or, time-travel “down in history” with your history-buff friends!
We invite the leaders in our community to host an Exclusive Tour Event. The staff and volunteers at the Diefenbunker, Canada’s Cold War Museum, are working hard to raise the funds necessary to undertake the work required to increase visitor capacity from 60 to 500 guests at a time. This project will ensure that this important historical site is preserved for future generations. And, increased capacity at the Diefenbunker will have a positive economic impact for rural Ottawa. How does it work? • As an Exclusive Tour Event host, you will agree to invite a minimum of 10 and maximum of 20 guests for a private, exclusive event at the Diefenbunker. • Our staff will provide invitations and send them out for you. • The host is responsible for following up with their guests, letting us know final numbers, and collecting the money. What will your event include? • An exclusive tour with a senior Diefenbunker tour guide, including seldom-seen areas of the Diefenbunker. • A unique, atomic gourmet experience with food and drink pairings by a top chef. • Optional activities such as a Cold War presentation by an expert, a screening of a Cold War film, or a retro fashion show. How much does it cost? • There is no cost to the event host. • Cost for guests is $75 per person for the basic package and $90 per person if you decide to include an optional activity (a portion of tickets are tax deductible; see below). What’s in it for you? • A truly unique event for colleagues, employees, business groups, families, social groups. • A way to support the worthwhile efforts of the Diefenbunker, while getting a pretty cool bang for your buck. • A charitable tax receipt will be issued to guests—or the host in the case of a corporate event—for the ticket price less cost of refreshments. • Your group/company name on our donor wall. What’s in it for us? • We raise funds for our building capacity project while having the opportunity to introduce our unique and fascinating museum to more people in our community. Guests will witness first-hand the great potential of our facility as a tourist destination and venue for future events. How do you take part? • Simply call Alexandra Badzak, Executive Director, at 613-839-0007, ext. 222 or email director@diefenbunker.ca
